Lead-free soldering does have one glaring disadvantage. The extremely high processing temperatures can wreak havoc on wave solder equipment. The possibility of corrosion or rusting of vital parts can cause unforeseen production downtime while users await expensive replacements. What's worse, overheating can force the premature retirement of wave solder machines long before their normal life expectancy.

SOLBOT lead free soldering machine is among the first dual wave solder machines designed from a clean sheet of paper specifically for the lead-free age. No other system offers its built-in armor against high heat. For example, the solder pots in most machines are made of titanium, an expensive metal that's highly susceptible to corrosion once heat seeps into seams. This is why ASAHI, Japan's equivalent of Underwriters Laboratories, will not recognize titanium in lead-free soldering environments.

The SOLBOT Lead Free Soldering Pot one-piece no seam pots employ special corrosion-inhibiting stainless steel that can't be hurt by heat. Fingers that grip circuit boards are another heat sensitive area on wave solder machines. Temperatures of 320° and up easily oxidize these parts on most machines. SOLBOT Lead Free Soldering machine grips are made of an extremely heat resistant material which can withstand this kind of heat.
